Be a part of Downing Hollow
Community Supported Agriculture,
as they write at Local
Harvest, "has become a
popular way for consumers to buy local, seasonal food
directly from a farmer... A farmer offers a certain
number of 'shares' to the public. Typically the share
consists of a box of vegetables, but other farm products
may be included. Interested consumers purchase a share
(aka a 'membership' or 'subscription') and in return
receive a box (bag, basket) of seasonal produce each
week throughout the farming season."
At Downing Hollow Farm, our CSA members can buy a
Spring/Summer season share, a Fall season share, or both.
Then they receive a large bag (about half a bushel) of
freshly-picked produce every week thereafter, until the
season wraps up.
We encourage our CSA members to visit the farm!
But we also have weekly pick up points in both Memphis and Savannah. Each week in
your bag of veggies (complete with a fresh loaf of bread,
farm newsletter and suggested recipes), you'll take the
flavor of our wholesome little hollow back home with you.
That means all the tastes of spring, summer, and fall on
your table, as the year unfolds.

bags we've delivered in years past.
We are absolutely committed to organic growing
principles. Your food will be completely free of synthetic
chemicals, and completely free of genetically modified
seeds. (See our section on Agri-Culture
for more on how we grow). We also are your gateway to the
Olive Hill Community Growers, as
diverse and friendly a bunch of neighbors as you could
wish for. From time to time, our CSA will include some of
their harvest – and they follow organic principles too.
Just for good measure, every share has a fresh loaf of
bread – either traditional Mennonite whole wheat bread
from Mrs. Wise, or Alex's famous bagels, scones, or
artisan bread. All made with chemical-free flour.
We have many friends in Memphis! Members there can
pick up their veggies at the Cooper-Young
Community Farmer's Market every Saturday morning,
just in time for some great weekend meals. Email us or sign up for our 2013 season.
